If you have been looking online or just on our website, you will find there are oodles of Active Adult Communities to choose from in the greater Phoenix Valley of the Sun.
I have arranged the communities by their location in the city. I have also identified communities by some of their features in my Best of Lists. This will let you see the communities that are built by some of the most popular Active Adult Community Developer’s. This is not all of the communities, just the communities by the most prolific 55+ builders in the area.
Del Webb, owned by Pulte Homes, is the first name in active lifestyle living. They launched Sun City Arizona in January of 1960, and had 100,000 people show up that first weekend. All of the Active Adult Lifestyle communities have been modeled from that first concept community. The success of the original Sun City and all of the Sun City Communities that followed proved that there is more to retirement than staying home.

The next big builder of Active Adult Living is Shea Homes with their collection of Trilogy Communities. Focused on creating Resort Living Communities, Shea Homes has included full day spa experiences for guests, as well as having onsite activities directors to coordinate events for members.

The next builder powerhouse in the 55+ arena is Taylor Morrison. In the past couple of years Taylor Morrison has acquired AV Homes and William Lyon Homes, increasing their Active Adult Community porfolilo.

K.Hovnanian completes the collection of builders with multiple communities. K.Hovanian has joined other builders at Verrado, and Wickenburg Ranch, The Scottsdale Heights community will have limited amenities.
